EuroLeague’s “Best Performer in Greece by bwin” for October! 

Five players impressed during October on behalf of the Greek teams in the EuroLeague!

Bwin, the Official National Sponsor of EuroLeague, presents five players from the Greek teams, that impressed in the EuroLeague during October. 

The first month of the new season was completed and five players impressed on behalf of the Greek teams. Each week bwin presents the “Best Performer in Greece” award in Olympiacos and Panathinaikos games.  

 Watch the highlights of these players, of which Nedovic and Mitoglou had the highest PIR ranking. 

 Week 1 | Ioannis Papapetrou vs Khimki 

 The Panathinaikos captain featured as MVP of the big win in Moscow. He finished the game with 16 points, 8 rebounds and three crucial points right at the end. 

Week 2: Octavius Ellis vs Panathinaikos 

 The first derby of the season took place in the Olympic Stadium of Athens and Olympiacos won thanks to a great performance from Ellis. The American center did everything on both sides of the court, finishing the game with 13 rebounds in just 24’ of play. 

Week 3: Dinos Mitoglou vs Barcelona 

 During the first double-round week of the season, Panathinaikos had to make the long trip to Barcelona. There, the “Greens” almost won, but in the end, they were defeated in extra time. Dinos Mitoglou was spectacular with 16 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and PIR ranking of 28. 

Week 4: Nedovic vs Fenerbahce 

Nedovic demonstrated his qualities against Fenerbahce and proved that he remains one the most explosive guards in the EuroLeague. He reached 28 points and almost broke his personal high scoring record, leading his team to a valuable win. 

Week 5: Hassan Martin vs Efes 

 So far, he is the greatest revelation of Olympiacos in the tournament. He also featured as the last “Best Performer in Greece by bwin” in October. Hassan Martin did not need much time to adjust to his new team, being one of the standout players both in defense and offence. Against Efes, he had 11 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, 3 blocks and PIR ranking of 19.
