Dora Gountoura achieved a great success in winning the bronze medal at the Acropolis Cup, despite the fact that she was suffering from bronchitis during the tournament! After winning the bronze medal at the World Championships in Budapest, Dora Gountoura added another one at an international competition.
The Greek Champion stepped up to the podium at the Acropolis Cup, that took place last Saturday (07/03) at the Olympic Stadium Indoor Hall. This is a great achievement for our young athlete, as she had to overcome her illness.
She managed to win and qualify four times, before losing to the Hungarian Pusztai (9-15). Despite the defeat she secured the 3rd place, won the bronze medal and got valuable points, that will help her to participate in the Tokyo Olympics!
“I am thrilled with the result! My dreams are getting closer after this medal. Now, let’s go to the last match and realize them. I thank all those who stand by my side!”, said Gountoura.
