5 more athletes added in the New Generation of Olympic Medalists !

In the face of all difficulties, bwin continues to aid Greek sports, by integrating five more athletes in the sponsoring scheme “We support the New Generation of Olympic Medalists”.

In an emotional ceremony, which was conducted on Thursday (08/10) with all the measures and precautions taken, bwin presented to the Hellenic Olympic Committee and its chairman, Mr. Spiros Kapralos, the new talented athletes that are now members of the “New Generation of Olympic Medalists”.

In the sponsoring scheme the following athletes were already integrated: Byron Kokkalanis (sailing), Dora Gkountoura (Fencing), Katerina Dalaka (track and field), Eleni Kelaiditi (rhythmic gymnastics), Dimitris Papadimitriou (sailing), Konstantinos Mastrogiannis (karate), Konstantinos Zikos (track and field), Odysseas Mouzenidis (shot put) and Alexandros Kalpogiannakis (sailing).

The team has now five new members: Stefanos Dimitriadis, 12 times champion in Greece and national record holder in 200m butterfly stroke, Anna Ntountounaki, a true champion not only in water, but also in life, the golden duo of synchronized swimming, Evangelia Platanioti and Evelina Papazoglou and the 400m. medley swimming world champion, Apostolos Papastamos. Their integration in the sponsoring scheme practically alters the potential of Greece in water sports. With the support of bwin, the athletes will be able to raise their training level, to travel in more tournaments and better prepare to fulfil the dream of their lives.

The chairman of HOC, Spiros Kapralos, stated: “We would like to thank bwin, because with their participation in the program “Adopt an athlete on the way to Tokyo” really help an important part of Greek sports. We feel relieved that a huge brand like bwin truly supports the Hellenic Olympic Committee and stands by the athletes, who really need the aid in these difficult times”.

On behalf of bwin, the director of Corporate Communications, Ioanna Beriou, mentioned: “In a difficult period, bwin choses to stand by the young athletes, who strive to succeed with a lot of sacrifices, in order to fulfil their dreams and goals”.
