During the last year alone (July 2020 – July 2021) bwin received two (2) global and six (6) national awards, as well as a nationwide distinction, for its social responsibility strategy for sustainable development.

Over the past years, bwin is at the forefront of efforts for a better society through multifaceted actions and its campaign for responsible and safe gaming. These nine (9) awards are a testimony of the hard work done during this period.

The first distinction was a global one. Entain, the parent company of bwin, was named “Safer Gambling Operator of the Year” at EGR’s Operator Awards 2020. This was the reward for the brand’s work on international level in the field of security of the costumer, as well as the recognition of the strategy for safe and responsible gaming. A few days later came another distinction at the SBC Awards, where Entain was named “Socially Responsible Sportsbook of the Year” for the actions taken to prevent problem gambling and protect the costumers.

In Greece, bwin follows the social responsibility strategy, that brought the two international distinctions, and received two major awards in the categories “CSR Programs and Actions” and “Cooperation with NGOs in the context of a CRS program”, in “Corporate Affairs Excellence Awards” In the first case, bwin supported the missions of the “Médecins du Monde” throughout the Aegean Sea to the most distant Greek islands and in the second case supported consistently the important work of the Union “Together for Children”.

The awards didn’t stop there. In 2021 bwin won another two (2) distinctions at “Bravo Sustainability Awards” in the categories: “Bravo in Action” for the program “bwin supports the Brave Children of ELEPAP” and “Special Bravo Covid-19” for the “Initiatives to deal with the consequences of the pandemic” program. At the same time, bwin became the first online gaming brand in Greece to be awarded by the “Institute of Corporate Responsibility“, based on its CRI Pass evaluation system. CRI Pass is an assessment tool in the field of sustainable development and its awards are based on evaluation of the strategic approach, the actions and the results achieved by any company in four major sectors:  Society, Environment, Employees and Economy.

Finally, bwin took part for the first time at the “Hellenic Responsible Business Awards 2021” and received two major awards. The program “Bwin supports the Brave Children of Elepap” won the bronze award in the category “Cooperation with NGOs” and the program “Bwin traveled to remote regions of Greece, providing health care services in cooperation with ‘Médecins du Monde’” won the silver award in the same category.

The aforementioned distinctions are of great importance for the Greek team of bwin, as they reflect the substantial support that the brand offers to NGOs and Organizations and, of course, to the society in general.
