After Agios Eftratios, it was the turn of Psara. The historic North Aegean island was the second stop of the bwin’s CSR initiative program of medical and humanitarian aid in collaboration with “Médecins du Monde”.
The humanitarian mission included services of specialist Pediatricians, Pathologists, Cardiologists as well as a modern mobile ophthalmology unit accompanied by an Ophthalmologist. The team of doctors examined for two days, at two different places of the islands, more than 1/3 of the island’s inhabitants. In particular, the number reached 125 adults and children.
Our target was the stay of the inhabitants
The Mayor of Psara, Konstantinos Vratsanos, noted that this initiative is particularly important as it reduces the number of permanent residents leaving the island for urban areas, especially in winter.
