The annual “Make-A-Wish” Foundation’s “’Thank You’ Night” took place on the 25th of February. The aim was to review the work done during the previous year, but in addition this night served as an expression of gratitude for volunteers, benefactors and supporters of the Foundation.

The night was full of various events and a lot of stories were heard. A mother was really worried about her daughter suddenly getting seriously ill, a teenage girl explained how she managed to cope with her disease, a father was “singing” for the difficult times he passed. These were really emotional moments. Make-A-Wish Greece managed to fulfill 292 wishes in 2019. Twenty-eight of them were wishes of children from other countries. Every 30 hours a wish was fulfilled and every child was gaining strength and regaining a part of its lost childhood. This would never become reality without the precious help of the Foundation’s supporters.

Bwin, one of supporters, fulfilled five (5) wishes. 4-year old Markos, 3-year old Nikolaos, 11-year old Panagiotis and 12-year old Giannis enjoyed moments of happiness and can now look to the future with optimism.

We are grateful that even more children trusted us. We managed to give them the necessary strength to continue their struggle or even giving them the opportunity to start a new life from scratch!”, said Yvet Kosmetatou, President of Make-A-Wish Greece. “We feel proud, as we were able to increase the number of wishes we fulfilled. The trust we receive from more families is the greatest gift. We thank bwin for its support over time”, added Sandra Zafirakopoulou, Director of Make-A-Wish Greece.

On behalf of bwin, spokesman Konstantinos Efremidis, said: “We would like to say ‘thank you’ to Make-A-Wish Foundation, because those wishes that were fulfilled gave a reason to children for smiling when they really needed it. Bwin will continue to support the valuable work, conducted by Make-A-Wish Foundation”.
