During 2019 bwin supported each and every community, all around Greece.
Bwin, one of the most successful online gaming brands in the world, is actively supporting the communities in the countries that is currently operating. Last year, that was proven in the most convincing way. Bwin Greece’s unique actions took place from Kavala to Kastelorizo and from Patra all the way to the island of Agios Efstratios, leaving its mark and demonstrating its distinctive philosophy.
The past year was full of sports activities, as six of Greece’s largest sporting events were sponsored by bwin. Starting from the “Thessaloniki International Marathon – Megas Alexandros” and the city’s “International Night Half-Marathon” to the “Spetses Mini Marathon”, the “Spetsathlon”, the “Bridge Experience” and the Ioannina “Lake Run”, bwin proved that it remains committed to its strategy of supporting wellness activities and amateur sports throughout Greece. All these sporting events had also a significant impact on local communities, as their promotion helped the local tourism industry.
In addition to sports events, bwin supported 27 local communities, as well as over 40.000 children and their families through 32 initiatives and actions. During 2019, bwin supported the work of 14 Institutions, Foundations and Associations. Contributing through “bwincares” to the local communities (Doctors of the World, Fire Service, NGO Boroume) and to various Institutions for children (ELEPAP, Together for Children, Open Door, Make-A-Wish Greece, Ark of the World) was something really important for bwin. The initiatives and targeted actions managed to secure a better future for all those involved and was the best way to give back to society.
At the same time, bwin continues its successful partnership with EuroLeague, the greatest Basketball competition in Europe, being one of its Premium Partners. Panathinaikos and Olympiacos represent Greece in the EuroLeague under bwin’s sponsorship and the same applies to Promitheas Patras in the EuroCup, another top competition organized by EuroLeague. In addition, bwin is Olympiacos B.C. major sponsor. A partnership that started in 2018 and aims to help Olympiacos become again champions of Europe.
It is also worth noting, that bwin, through the “bwinners” program and the initiative “We Support the new Generation of Olympic Champions” is actively supporting eleven (11) talented athletes, who strive daily to achieve their goals. Currently, qualification for 2020 Summer Olympics has been their priority, a goal which will fulfill their dream of representing the country in Tokyo, at the greatest international sporting event.
Bwin continues with the same commitment in 2020 to keep practicing its values without discrimination and segregation. The initiatives driven by bwin will not stop!
