Βwin, true to its social responsibility strategy, supports actively communities in remote areas and villages across Greece, promoting fair play and giving equal access to every child to play freely. Thus, after the renovations of playgrounds in Ioannina, Chania and Thessaloniki, of tennis courts for children and young people with disabilities and the inauguration of two courts in Didymoteicho, Samothraki was the next stop for bwin.
In cooperation with the Union “Together for Children”, three courts and their surrounding spaces where fully renovated. A project of great importance for the children of the island. In more detail, a basketball and a volleyball court were completely renovated at the Elementary School of Kamariotissa and one more basketball court at the high school of Samothraki. Their surroundings where adorned and painted.
Around 250 students in these schools will now be able to play basketball, volleyball or handball in brand new courts. The three new courts have a total area of 1200 sq. m. A specially designed floor, which is used in professional facilities, was laid down for extra safety. Also, delineation was placed and the necessary equipment was installed. At the same time, their surroundings were adorned, as well as the stands in the main court of the high school in Samothraki.
It’s worth noting that bwin alongside the Union “Together for Children” have renovated five courts in total, starting from 2020. These courts have a total are of 1800 sq. m. and are located in two of the most remote areas in Greece.
