True to its vision, bwin actively supports local communities in which it operates and proved that since the very beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. Bwin organized a series of action and initiatives to support not only the Greek Health System, but also vulnerable groups that have been affected by the coronavirus.
Bwin once more joined forces with Olympiacos B.C., aiding “Monday Games against Covid-19”, a program consisted of a series of initiatives against the consequences of the pandemic. The first action took place on the same day with Olympiacos – Colossus game on November 30. Bwin and Olympiacos:
- Enhanced the work of the Doctors and Nursing staff of “Attikon” hospital in Athens by offering a portable ventilator, that will be used in intensive care units. This initiative was carried out with the support of “Médecins du Monde”.
- Supported the elderly and lonely people in many parts of Attica, who have been severely affected by the coronavirus pandemic, hanging out special Christmas solidarity boxes. They included basic necessities goods and personal protective equipment, as well as the necessary New Year’s charm. The initiative was carried out with the support of “Médecins du Monde”.
- Aided the work of the Doctors and Nursing staff of the “Andreas Papandreou” hospital in Rhodes by offering 10.000 disposable gloves.
- Supported the work of the Doctors and Nursing staff of “Thriasio” hospital in Elefsina by offering 10.000 masks
Bwin and Olympiacos B.C. share the same vision and philosophy, always trying to help the society, something that has been proven a lot times during the past years of their cooperation.

The same principles connect us, as well as the sense of social contribution. This is evident during the difficult times of the pandemic, when the national health system reached its limits. The same applies to vulnerable groups. We will keep up working together, offering our help and organizing actions, that will allow us to create a dynamic platform of solidarity. No one should be left out!”.
Finally, Spyridon Apostolopoulos, Director of “Attikon” hospital, said: “Immediate response to needs of our hospital proves in practice that the reflexes of our society and business world. Everyone recognizes the superhuman effort made on a daily basis and the great struggles during emergencies. We thank them warmly”.
During the game all the health protocols were applied.
