Bwin is the first betting brand in Greece to adopt the Board Diversity Policy via Diversity Charter with the moto “The best and most diverse team!”.
Adopting the Board Diversity Policy proves that bwin and its parent company, Entain plc, are committed to supporting diversity, not only in working spaces but also in the society. The creation of the “Board Diversity Policy” aims to apply a diversity policy strategy around four pillars:
- Support women and offer equal work opportunities, access to various positions and leadership.
- Anti-Discrimination strategies without any social exclusions
- Human Resource Development
- Social awareness and Continuing Education
Implementation and progress of the Policy can be reviewed through the annual Gender Pay Gap Report.
The Board Diversity Policy is a European Commission initiative to promote diversity in Greek companies and organizations. It was founded in Greece in 2019, following the DIMAIN program. The goal is to act as a means of commitment to implementing a strategy of equality, equal opportunities and diversity in every work environment. The Board Diversity Policy is being promoted to every EU member state.
Ioannis Kapodistrias, Managing Director, and George Tsagklis, HR Director, adopted the Board Diversity Policy on behalf of bwin alongside Stavros Milionis, President of Diverisity Charter Greece.
“We are extremely happy to welcome bwin in the Board Diversity Policy for Greek companies. Bwin has already designed and implemented a program to support diversity within its organization and proves its sensitivity in matters of diversity in the whole of the society. A brand like that could only enhance our work in that direction”, stated Stavros Milionis.
“Respecting diversity is one of the most fundamental elements of bwin’s identity. For that reason, we are really glad to adopt the Board Diversity Policy. Over the past years, our initiatives prove that we “struggle” to eliminate every kind of inequality. Every action is in alignment with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the UN. At the same time, we send a clear message for equal opportunities, not only in our working environment, but also in every aspect of our society”, added George Tsagklis.
Bwin’s initiatives, part of its corporate social responsibility program, are in alignment with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the UN until 2030 to create a more sustainable future. This initiative is part of Goals No. 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries and No. 17: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development. In out country the Board Diversity Policy for Greek companies is implemented by KEAN – Cell of Alternative Youth Activities.
