Stefanos Dimitriadis

Stefanos Dimitriadis, one of the best swimmers that Greece has to offer, is sponsored by bwin.

Stefanos originates from Naoussa, but was born and lives in Athens. He started swimming at the age of 8 at Paleo Faliro. He has been crowned 12-time Greek champion and holds the National men’s 200m butterfly record. He belongs to the Olympiacos team for the last 10 years and will continue until he retires.

Dive into success

He received gold and silver medals at the 2006 Balkan Games; silver and bronze medals at the World Military championship held in Toronto in 2009; he qualified for the final eight of the European championship in Budapest in 2010; he competed in the London Olympic Games in 2012; he won the bronze medal in the World university games (Universiade) in 2013; he managed to qualify or the final of the European championship in Berlin in 2014; and he competed in the World Championship semi-finals held in Kazan, Russia in 2015. Moreover, he is the first Greek athlete to reach the participation threshold for the Rio Olympics. He was awarded as the best swimmer in Greece in 2014.

Dreams never end

Despite being an athlete for a good number of years, Stefanos remains dedicated and determined to achieve his goals which include the finals in the World and Olympic Games.
